My practice is interdisciplinary and moves freely between two- and three-dimensional forms of expression, including painting, drawing, text, and sculptural ceramics.
The relationship between humanity and nature, between the inner and the outer world, is a recurring theme in my work. To me, these are not separate realms but parts of the same whole. At the same time, the paradox of the world we live in becomes increasingly apparent: the further society advances, the further we seem to move from our origins— and with that distance comes a growing longing for belonging. Within this tension, both grief and love, loneliness and connection can emerge. It is this tension, this friction, this subtle abrasion, that I return to again and again in my artistic practice.
What is close to me in my own life inevitably shapes my work as an artist. Family life, the rhythm of everyday existence, and the constant presence of nature all find their way into my practice. Birds—moving between sky and earth, elusive yet always present—recur as motifs and companions.
For me, making art is a way of inhabiting the present moment. It is a space where I can encounter myself, work through creative resistance, and allow the materials to become collaborators in the process. Through my work, I hope to offer something that invites recognition and reflection—an attempt at dialogue in which the external can give form to the internal. The works become a way of making visible and holding space for experiences we often carry alone.
As an artist, I also have experience in public art through several completed commissions in Västerås. I enjoy the collaborative processes and contexts that public commissions involve. Alongside my artistic practice, I work as an illustrator and have illustrated around twenty children's and young adult books, as well as collections of poetry. Drawing, sketching, and working with the written word are perhaps what most clearly connect my fine art practice with my work as an illustrator, forming a bridge where the two worlds meet.
In 2005, I published a collection of poetry and an art book in collaboration with my mother and colleague Gunnel Branzell, based in Köping.
Today, I live and work in Fellingsbro.

Mitt arbete är tvärdisciplinärt och rör sig ofta fritt mellan två- och tredimensionella uttryck som måleri, teckning, text och skulptural keramik.
Relationen mellan människan och naturen, mellan det inre och det yttre, återkommer ofta i mina arbeten. För mig är dessa inte åtskilda, utan delar av samma helhet. Samtidigt blir paradoxen vi lever i alltmer tydlig; ju längre samhället kommer i sin utveckling ju mer rör vi oss bort från vårt ursprung – och med det växer längtan efter tillhörighet. I denna spänning kan både sorg och kärlek, ensamhet och gemenskap uppstå. Det är den spänningen, friktionen, skavet, som jag så ofta återkommer till i mitt skapande.
Det som är nära mig i mitt eget liv präglar också oundvikligen mitt konstnärskap. Familjeliv, vardagens rytm och naturens ständiga närvaro, fåglar – rörliga, mellan himmel och jord - svåra att komma nära men alltid närvarande.
Att arbeta konstnärligt är för mig ett sätt att vara i nuet. Ett utrymme för mig att möta mig själv, arbeta mig runt blockeringar och låta materialen bli medskapare. Genom verken vill jag erbjuda något som kan väcka igenkänning och eftertanke – ett försök till dialog, där det yttre får manifestera det inre. De blir ett sätt att ge plats åt sådant som vi annars ofta bär på ensamma.
Som konstnär har jag även erfarenhet av offentlig gestaltning genom flera genomförda uppdrag i Västerås. Jag trivs med de processer och sammanhang som offentliga verk innebär. Parallellt med konsten jobbar jag som illustratör, och har illustrerat ett 20-tal barn- och ungdomsböcker, men även poetiska texter. Att teckna, skissa och även att jobba med det skrivna ordet är kanske det som förbinder min konst med mitt illustrativa skapande. Det blir som en bro där båda värdarna möts.
2005 gav jag ut en egen diktsamling och konstbok tillsammans med min mor och kollega Gunnel Branzell, med utgångspunkt från Köping.
