Ida Rosén Branzell (1980, Västerås, Sweden)
-creates artworks, text and sculptures in mixed media and works interdisciplinary with different materials, techniques and expressions.

In public commissions, my work process is often idea-driven, and takes its cue from specific conditions such as spatiality, light, materials and stories. In my independent work, it is more about freeing up space for the intuitive and the subconscious to take place. Regardless of the conditions, concern for people and nature, and the desire to understand our relationship to ourselves and our surroundings are a central part of the expression.

Seeing the possibilities and inherent potential in different materials, techniques and things is the basis of my driving force. In this arises the desire to investigate, discover and highlight. Giving form to the formless and space for material encounters, where I like to see myself as an observer and the materials as a co-creator and where art is used to channel and visualize a part of reality, an attempt at dialogue, where the external manifests the internal, and vice versa.

Currently living and working in Fellingsbro, Sweden.

I offentliga uppdrag är min arbetsprocess ofta idéburen, och tar sats ur specifika förutsättningar som rumslighet, ljus, material och berättelser. I mina fria arbeten handlar det mer om att frigöra ett utrymme för det intuitiva och det undermedvetna att få ta plats. Oavsett förutsättningar är omtanken om människan och naturen, och viljan att förstå vårt förhållande till oss själva, och vår omgivning en central del av uttrycket. 

Att se möjligheterna och den inneboende potentialen i olika material, tekniker och ting är grunden i min drivkraft. I det uppstår lusten att undersöka, upptäcka och lyfta fram. Ge form åt det formlösa och utrymme för materialmöten, där jag gärna ser mig själv som en betraktare och materialen som en medskapare och där konsten används för att kanalisera och visualisera en del av verkligheten, ett försök till dialog, där det yttre manifesterar det inre, och tvärt om.

Bor och arbetar idag i Fellingsbro.
